An artist capable of taking the harmonica to remarkable new heights, Joan Pau Cumellas has transformed the way this instrument is perceived. He blends styles such as blues, jazz and bluegrass with an extraordinary technique that can evoke both the delicacy of a violin and the deep expressiveness of a blues voice.

He performs at Europe’s leading harmonica festivals and, alongside his own projects, collaborates with internationally renowned artists. He has released 12 albums and contributed to more than 90 recordings, many featuring his own compositions. His harmonica can also be heard in advertising campaigns and film soundtracks.

A passionate advocate for the harmonica, his courses attract students from around the world. He is the founder and artistic director of the Calella Harmonica Festival and other initiatives such as Harmonicas Roses, the Gironella Harmonica Camp and the Toulouse Harmonica Camp, as well as educational shows for children including I Like the Blues and Soloists in the Classroom.

He has performed across Europe, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. He has also appeared in Canada, Cuba, Uruguay and Argentina. He was selected to represent the iconic harmonica brand Hohner in Spain.
